Hello, I’m Melissa, a Licensed Social Worker with specialized training in trauma and interpersonal violence.
My style is warm and grounded, and I aim to create a safe and collaborative space where clients can heal and grow. I see therapy as a collaborative process—one where healing unfolds at the client’s pace, supported by compassion, presence, and trust. Beyond individual sessions, I have facilitated group therapy, where I’ve witnessed the strength that comes from shared connection and collective healing. I consider it a privilege to walk alongside clients in both their struggles and their growth, and I am honored each time someone allows me to be part of their journey.
Outside of my work, I cherish time spent with friends and my family, including my husband, three teenage children and our two golden retrievers. I also find joy in travel, yoga, and long walks—practices that help me stay grounded and remind me of the importance of balance and renewal.
My work centers on helping clients heal the deep impacts of trauma, including how it shapes attachment, identity, worldview, and even patterns carried across generations.
I specialize in PTSD and complex PTSD, supporting clients through symptoms such as hypervigilance, difficulties with safety and trust, triggers, flashbacks, disrupted sleep, and moral injury.
I help clients untangle patterns like trauma bonding and conflict cycles, while also exploring challenges around emotional and physical intimacy, boundaries, as well as repairing and strengthening relational connection.
I support clients struggling with both high-functioning depression and more overwhelming symptoms, creating space to explore what feels heavy, isolating, or stuck.
I work with clients experiencing generalized anxiety, performance anxiety, and anxiety within relationships, helping them understand triggers and patterns while building healthier ways to cope.
I help clients explore the roots of these feelings—often shaped by past experiences or messages from others—while building self-compassion, confidence, and a stronger sense of personal worth.
My decision to become a therapist was rooted in a deep desire to help people reclaim hope, strength, and a sense of possibility in their lives. I am passionate about walking with clients through the difficult process of healing—helping them move from feeling stuck or overwhelmed to feeling empowered and capable of change. Witnessing those moments of transformation, when someone begins to truly believe in their own resilience, is one of the greatest honors of this work.
In addition to my clinical work, I hold a concentration in Global Social Work that I hope to utilize as my children prepare for the next stage of their lives. I’m looking forward to dedicating time each year to volunteering both within the U.S. and internationally, sharing my passion for connection and healing across diverse communities.
