ABOUT

Hello, I’m Sarah! I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master’s degree in Counseling from Rider University, where I graduated in 2017. I specialize in supporting individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions, and I’m certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

I have extensive experience working with adults struggling with addiction, as well as with teens navigating emotional and behavioral challenges. I'm passionate about helping clients build healthier relationships with themselves and others, and I bring empathy, authenticity, and a nonjudgmental presence to the therapeutic process.

In addition to individual work, I’ve facilitated therapeutic groups for both children and adults, and I value the sense of connection and shared healing that group spaces can create. I’ve had the honor of supporting clients through crisis and trauma, and I consider it a privilege to be a calm and consistent presence during life’s most difficult moments. Whether someone is facing a major loss, a painful memory, or just needs a safe space to feel seen and heard, I strive to be the person they can trust to share their story with.

Areas of focus

trauma from childhood and relationships

I guide clients through the healing of childhood and relational trauma by combining evidence-based therapies with compassion, helping them reframe old narratives, strengthen coping skills, and step into relationships with greater confidence and self-worth.

post-traumatic stress disorder

I work with clients living with PTSD to help them safely process traumatic memories, reduce triggers, and regain a sense of stability and control. Using trauma-focused approaches like EMDR, Somatic Therapy, and DBT, I provide a supportive space where you can gently untangle the past, calm your nervous system, and begin to feel more grounded, empowered, and at peace in your daily life.

grief & loss

I help clients work through the pain of losing a loved one, the heartbreak of divorce or relationship endings, and the grief that comes with major life transitions. In therapy, we create space to honor your loss, navigate the waves of emotion, and gently discover ways to move forward while carrying your connection and memories with you.

emotion regulation

I help clients who feel overwhelmed by intense emotions learn how to understand, regulate, and respond to their feelings in healthier ways. Using approaches like DBT, we work together to build practical coping skills, increase self-awareness, and create more stability so emotions feel manageable instead of consuming

Life transitions

I support clients through major life transitions—whether it’s starting or ending a relationship, adjusting to parenthood, navigating career changes, or coping with shifts in identity and purpose. Together, we make sense of the uncertainty, ease the stress of change, and uncover opportunities for growth and resilience in the next chapter of your life.

Seasonal Affective Issues

I help clients manage seasonal affective issues, from the heaviness and fatigue that surface in the colder months to the restlessness or anxiety that can arise in the warmer seasons. My approach focuses on restoring balance, lifting mood, and building routines that support well-being all year long.

Motivation for practicing therapy

My motivation for becoming a therapist stem from a deep desire to help people feel understood, empowered, and capable of change. Having experienced the benefits of therapy in my own life, I appreciate how transformative the process can be. I’m passionate about guiding clients through their healing, especially those who feel stuck or overwhelmed by their past or current challenges. Watching someone shift from surviving to thriving is incredibly rewarding, and I’m honored to be part of that journey.

Fun fact about me

Before I became a therapist, I dreamed of Broadway. Musicals were my first love and taught me the power of emotion and storytelling.
