Trauma-Informed Therapy

Trauma-informed therapy starts with the understanding that your experiences—especially the painful or overwhelming ones—can shape how you think, feel, and move through the world. You don’t have to have a specific diagnosis or a “big” traumatic event for trauma to be impacting your daily life.

In trauma-informed care, we work at your pace. You’re always in control of your process, and we prioritize creating a space that feels safe, empowering, and grounded. We pay attention not just to what happened, but how it’s showing up for you now—in your body, your relationships, your emotions, and even in the ways you protect yourself.

Our goal isn’t to “fix” you—it’s to help you reconnect with your sense of self, build resilience, and make room for healing on your terms.

What you can expect

Safety

Physical, emotional, and psychological safety is prioritized at all times. Clients are supported in ways that reduce overwhelm and create a sense of stability.

Trust & Transparency

Clear communication, consistent boundaries, and collaboration help build trust between the client and therapist.

Empowerment & Choice

Clients are given agency in their healing process. You won’t be pushed or rushed—your voice, preferences, and pace matter.

Collaboration

Healing is not done to you but with you. Your therapist works alongside you as a guide, not as an authority.

Understanding Trauma's Impact

Therapy takes into account how trauma can affect the brain, body, and nervous system—often in ways that are unseen but deeply felt.

Cultural Humility & Sensitivity

Trauma-informed care respects your identity, lived experience, and cultural background. There’s an awareness of how systems and oppression can also be sources of trauma.

Focus on Strength & Resilience

Rather than only focusing on what's "wrong," trauma-informed therapy highlights your strengths, coping strategies, and capacity for healing.

Body-Mind Connection

Trauma is stored in both the mind and the body, so therapy may include somatic awareness, grounding techniques, and practices that help regulate the nervous system.
