Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC)
Hello, I’m Sarah! I’m a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) with a Master’s degree in Counseling from Rider University, where I graduated in 2017. I specialize in supporting individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions, and I’m certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
I have extensive experience working with adults struggling with addiction, as well as with teens navigating emotional and behavioral challenges. I'm passionate about helping clients build healthier relationships with themselves and others, and I bring empathy, authenticity, and a nonjudgmental presence to the therapeutic process.
In addition to individual work, I’ve facilitated therapeutic groups for both children and adults, and I value the sense of connection and shared healing that group spaces can create. I’ve had the honor of supporting clients through crisis and trauma, and I consider it a privilege to be a calm and consistent presence during life’s most difficult moments. Whether someone is facing a major loss, a painful memory, or just needs a safe space to feel seen and heard, I strive to be the person they can trust to share their story with.
I specialize in working with clients who are healing from trauma rooted in past relationships or childhood experiences. This includes complex PTSD, struggles with self-worth, and difficulties with emotion regulation. I support clients who feel stuck in patterns of avoidance, shutdown, or who are navigating the lasting effects of overwhelming or distressing life experiences. My work also includes helping clients explore how early relational wounds impact their current sense of identity, connection, and safety.
I use an integrative approach tailored to each client’s needs, drawing primarily from EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy). EMDR is my preferred modality for trauma work because of its ability to bring lasting relief and healing without requiring clients to retell painful stories repeatedly. I incorporate DBT for emotional regulation and distress tolerance into my work.
My motivation for becoming a therapist stem from a deep desire to help people feel understood, empowered, and capable of change. Having experienced the benefits of therapy in my own life, I appreciate how transformative the process can be. I’m passionate about guiding clients through their healing, especially those who feel stuck or overwhelmed by their past or current challenges. Watching someone shift from surviving to thriving is incredibly rewarding, and I’m honored to be part of that journey.

Before I became a therapist, I dreamed of Broadway. Musicals were my first love and taught me the power of emotion and storytelling.
